Component Based Measurement®
METRI offers benchmarking services based on the METRI Component Based Measurement® principles. Using this approach, METRI can analyse the complete set of services delivered to the business. By comparing each component with the METRI database, a clear picture can be drawn of the effectiveness and efficiency of the ICT organisation.

Since the METRI database is compiled using the principle of Component Based Measurement®, our consultants are able to give our clients the overview of the ICT services that best meets their needs. The organisation and delivered services are the centre of our analysis.

METRI uses a service-oriented benchmarking model in which each specific component is measured and valued. We call this Component Based Measurement®.

By using the Component Based Measurement® approach the client's "service structure" is not lost in the comparison. The peer is shaped to the client service model instead of shaping the client to the peer.

Component-based business modelling by IBM

IBM has extended component-based business modelling with the Component Business Model for the Business of IT, an approach to helping CIOs understand where resources are being applied and whether IT is aligned with the direction of the business. By breaking down the IT organisation into discrete building blocks - the people, processes and infrastructure that perform a single function - CIOs can begin to see which activities are differentiating and which are non-differentiating; which carry the highest and lowest costs; and how effectively the organisation performs the activities within each of the IT components.
